The Copy [Third Step]

To wear dreams on one's feet is to begin to give reality to one's dreams. Roger Vivier

Here's the first glimpse of my final object.
This preview image was one of the several resulting renders after building the object in Rhinoceros during Modeling and Prototyping classes oriented by Rafael Coelho.
I'm already starting the last task for The Copy project - making the real one in metal.
So, wish me luck!
Or even better... wish me perfection :)

The Frontpage!

I couldn't believe it. I just got home from a class and found a message from a fellow etsian telling me that I made it to Etsy frontpage today! Thank you!
I'm a little sorry that I wasn't able to see my Bunny Ring there, but it's already sold.
You can still see the treasury that got it to that frontpage, it's the handmade for all.
It's amazing the amount of people that got to my shop, and I have a lot of new hearts :D
And my little Teddy Ring is in a gift guide.
That's it > Hooray!

Your Treasure, My Pleasure

I just love being featured in treasuries (I'm getting dangerously used to it ;)!
It's so interesting for me to see how other people insert my pieces in a whole unique context of their own. And today I found two rings from my I'm All Ears series in these thematic selections.
The first one, Eternal by 3SistersLove is featuring my Teddy Ring among beauty and poetry.
The second one, handmade for all by estasketch makes my Bunny Ring look like a tough guy.
And I think they look so perfect together, don't you?
Thank you both for including me in your excelent choices!

Hands Full

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. John Lennon

You must forgive me once more for not posting my Xmas Favourite Selection planned for Fridays on this blog, but this humble friend of yours is working harder than ever.
In between the classes I'm teaching and the ones I'm attending, I'm actually selling a lot more then I was prepared for :)
Happily exhausted, my hands are full of work. My head full of new ideas.
My heart is full of hope and expectations.

The Copy [First Step]

This is the first post about my journey in the Jewellery Design Post Graduation.
I'll be sharing part of my process, doubts and inspirations along the way.
So, under the "Post Graduation Notes" label, here's the beginning.

"One thing grows from another, towards a new creation" Deganit Stern Schocken

Inspired by this concept, the first task for the Jewellery Design Laboratory class oriented by Leonor Hipólito, is choosing an object and copying it.
This was my choice.
In the front is the copy I made of the original shoe on the background.
Let's see where these paper and fimo heels will take me.

She wanted a Long Stem Flower. She also wanted a ring.
No rings in this Series yet - I said to her.
Ok - she said.
She picked a Long Flower Stem pin and turned it into an adjustable little ring.
Thumbs up for creative spreaders!

If you own a piece of The Golden Plague, you can send me a photo of yourself wearing it and join The Golden Plague Spreaders. I will appreciate it :)

Golden Cherry Blossom

The Golden Cherry Blossom is a sterling silver ring with a pearl detail inspired by oriental flower drawings. I constructed it as if contours invaded the tridimensional space.
It's gold platted and then sanded in the edges to give it a vintage look.
The pendant flower in this ring makes it dinamic and playful.
It includes a special package.
If you'd like to see more photos and info just click on the picture.

I just created an album in The Golden Plague facebook fan page where you can find some photos of those lovely creatures that wear the jewelry I make.
If you own a piece from The Golden Plague, you can send me some photos of you wearing it and I'll post it right there :)

Etsy [Love at First Sight]

When I first thought of having my own Etsy shop, I went to the site just to look around. To have a keen idea of the competition, you know... But a few moments later I realized I was already falling for some of the things in there. Yes, I'm a woman and I'm caught by beauty.
So this Friday, to celebrate my opening on Etsy, I made a selection of etsian artists and crafters that [hand]made some of my favourite products.
And they are:
*Starry Blue Sky > Put on your Dancing Shoes - Signed Fine Art Photograph
*A Hint of Vintage Romance - The art of Jen > The Picture Bride - Neo Victorian Photo Collage Print
*Bags and Buds > Sister - Scrap Brooch
*Canadian Rockies > Tatissa - Jasper and Silver Rustic Necklace
